What is the Genos e.i. ? An Emotional Intelligence Test or Assessment

Genos e.i. is an emotional intelligence measurement tool that assesses the way you use and manage emotions at work. Measurement is carried out according to an empirically-based seven dimension model of emotional intelligence.

The Genos e.i. was written by Dr Ben Palmer (B. Appl. Science, PhD Psych.) and Dr Con Stough (Prof. Cognitive Neuroscience & Psych., Swinburne University, Melbourne, Australia.). The Genos e.i. is normed against an Australian workforce population. This is a feature distinguishing it from the majority of Emotional Intelligence measurement instruments available in Australasia.

EIDA offers you a consultant – Yvette Vignando – who is accredited to administer and debrief the Genos e.i. instrument to groups and individuals.

What does the Genos e.i. measure?

The Genos e.i. measures aspects that affect your decisions, behaviours and performance:

• Emotional Awareness of Others:
• Emotional Reasoning:
• Emotional Self Management
• Emotional Self Awareness
• Emotional Self Control
• Emotional Management of Others

Scoring of the Genos e.i. is performed using sophisticated data analysis within a secure technology environment. Administration may be in the form of self- assessment and/or 360 degree feedback. Following administration and depending on your organisational and individual needs, three types of interpretive reports may be generated: an Individual Profile, a Work-Team Profile and a Management Report.

The Genos ei can be used in emotional intelligence training workshops or in executive coaching.
